Our founders, the late Byron R. Kantrow, Sr. and Judge Carlos G. Spaht, demonstrated excellence in academics, graduating at the top of their law school class, and began our firm’s rich history of providing superior legal services to our clients. Mr. Kantrow and Judge Spaht were known to have said that the best source of work was what was already on our desks. In other words, it was their belief that if our lawyers excelled in the study of the law and provided excellent legal services to our clients, the firm would prosper and grow. They were right.
As part of that legacy, we have continued to hire only those attorneys who have demonstrated their ability and their commitment to excellence through academic and professional achievement. Our stellar reputation and continued success is based upon our continued dedication to excellence in all our pursuits, including hiring the most creative, dedicated and self-motivated attorneys.
We seek attorneys with a combination of professionalism and perspective who want to partner with us to continue our tradition of excellent client service. We recruit associates primarily from graduates in the top ten percent of their law school class and from lawyers in practice who have demonstrated the highest ethical and professional standards. A majority of our entry-level attorney positions are filled with participants of our summer associate program.
Associates typically work with a mentoring attorney in an area of the firm which is of interest to them, although we provide associates with a broad range of exposure to all areas of our law profession and the opportunity to work with attorneys from other practice areas. We typically seek to hire 1 or 2 attorneys each year. We also consider graduates completing federal and state judicial clerkships.
