Firm History

Kantrow, Spaht, Weaver & Blitzer (A Professional Law Corporation) was formed over 60 years ago when Byron R. Kantrow started the practice of law in what was then the small city of Baton Rouge.  He was soon joined by Carlos Spaht, and together they engaged in a full range general law practice.  The 1930’s and 1940’s were decades of great growth for Baton Rouge, with the expansion of the petrochemical industry, state government, and the university system.  Kantrow Spaht grew with its clients and their needs for representation in sophisticated and complex transactions.  Today, the firm’s lawyers are engaged in the full time practice of law and related areas such as teaching and legal writing.  The firm is one of the leading firms in the State of Louisiana and its lawyers are uniformly recognized for their abilities.

We are proud of our roots in Baton Rouge, recognize our obligations to the community in which we live and work, and support and participate in community activities.  We value the trust and confidence of our clients as we continue to service their legal needs.
