General Information

DAVID S. RUBIN practices primarily in the areas of bankruptcy, creditor rights, restructuring, and reorganizations, commercial law and litigation, and technology law. He has broad experience in representing secured and unsecured creditors, bondholders, indenture trustees, and debtors in all aspects of chapter 11 cases and bankruptcy and restructuring related matters and litigation. He is also experienced in matters concerning corporate governance, director and officer liability, and general commercial litigation. David has been involved in major litigation for many financial institutions, state and federal agencies, healthcare systems, banks, and public and private companies, and in major bankruptcy and restructuring cases including Cajun Electric Power Cooperative (counsel for the Trustee), Babcock and Wilcox, Entergy New Orleans, Inc., Crystal Oil Corp., American International Petroleum, Hollywood Casino Shreveport (court mediator), Grand Palais & Crescent City Riverboat Casinos (counsel for the State of Louisiana), Perryville Energy Partners (counsel for the Debtor), Communications Corporation of America (counsel for Senior Lender) (all in Louisiana), Crown Vantage (California), United Companies Financial Corporation (counsel for the Debtor) (Delaware), Borden Chemicals (Delaware), Orion Refining Corporation (Delaware), Winn Dixie Corp. (New York and Florida), Kmart Corporation (Illinois), Pilgrims Pride Corporation (counsel for the State of Louisiana), Continental Airlines (Texas), Service Merchandise Corp. Education & Honors

David received his Juris Doctorate degree from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in 1978. He was a member of Order of the Coif, Omicron Delta Kappa, and Phi Kappa Phi, and served as an associate editor of the Louisiana Law Review.

Bar & Court Admissions

David is a member of the Louisiana State and American Bar Associations, admitted to practice in all federal district and bankruptcy courts in Louisiana, in the Fifth and Eleventh Federal Circuits Courts of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. He has been admitted pro hac vice in federal courts in many states.
