W. SCOTT KEATY has a commercial litigation and a commercial transaction practice.

Scott has broad experience in representing clients involved in a variety of complex commercial litigation matters, including contract and business tort litigation and health care litigation. Scott also has a media law practice, focused on First Amendment issues. Recently, Scott has represented an integrated healthcare system in a claim filed by a former medical resident. Scott has also recently represented a research foundation in a contractual dispute and a media client in connection with various public record request and reporters' privilege and shield law matters. Scott has also been involved in various commercial transactions, including various mergers and acquisitions.

EDUCATION & HONORS

Scott received his B.B.A. degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1991 and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Notre Dame Law School in 1991. During 1994-1995, he served as a law clerk to Honorable John M. Shaw, Chief Judge, United States District Court, Western District of Louisiana.

BAR & COURT ADMISSIONS

Scott is a member of the Baton Rouge, Louisiana State and Federal Bar Associations and previously served on the Louisiana State Bar Association Adhoc Committee on Revisions of Rules Governing Bar Admission. He is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in the State of Louisiana.
